SFIC MENTOR Programme

About SFIC MENTOR Programme

The overall industry landscape is constantly evolving, and so are SFIC members. Our community spans seasoned industry veterans, nexgen leaders stepping up in family businesses and dynamic entrepreneurs. Each group faces distinct challenges and opportunities.

The SFIC MENTOR Programme is designed to pair these emerging companies and entrepreneurs across the four key industry clusters (manufacturers, retailers, designers, and materials/ components/service providers) with experienced industry veterans to foster knowledge exchange and strategic development.

Process

  • Mentorship Pairing

1-on-1 mentor-mentee pairings based on industry knowledge, mentee needs and mentor expertise.

Pairing of mentor-mentee is at SFIC’s discretion. A brief of each mentee’s business will be provided to the mentor, prior to the commencement of the mentorship.

  • Mentorship Sessions / Duration

Mentors will conduct at least 3 sessions with each mentee over a 6-month period, extendable based on mutual agreement and the mentees’ progress.

Mentees are responsible for initiating and scheduling sessions with their mentors to ensure timely and productive discussions.

Post-session feedback forms will have to be completed by both mentors and mentees to document suggestions and evaluate the usefulness of the session.

Session Structure

  • Introduction
    • Mentees will begin by building rapport with their mentor, share their challenges, receive initial insights and guidance.

  • Follow-up
    • Mentees will review their progress, adapt strategies based on their mentor’s initial feedback and explore recommendations for improvements/areas to work on.

  • Final Check-in
    • Mentees will reflect on their journey, assess progress made and identify any potential areas where further mentorship may be helpful.

This structure serves as a guideline, allowing mentors the flexibility to tailor the approach as needed.

Mentors-Mentees who are unable to complete the required 3 sessions must inform SFIC 1 month prior to the end of the period.
