Practical Lesson for Pioneer Design & Make Diploma Students
Mr The 8-hour session on CNC operations held at Lignar Engineering recently proved to be an engaging experience
For the pioneer batch of 11 Nanyang Polytechnic Design & Make Specialist Diploma students, it’s time to put aside their on-the-job training at their respective companies and head for the workshop.
The Earn-and-Learn programme was jointly launched by SFIC, SFIC Institute and Nanyang Polytechnic in August and lessons started in September last year. Commune, Grandwork Interior, Hometech, Jarrod Lim Design, Renovator Hub and Star Furniture were among the companies who have signed up for the programme.
Ask any student and they will probably tell you they enjoy practical lessons more. The 8-hour session on CNC operations held at Lignar Engineering recently proved to be an engaging experience as students posed question after question. True to their millennial nature, processes and methodologies were questioned.
Mr Jake Tan, Chairman of SFIC Institute, was pleased with the progress and the enthusiasm from these students due to graduate by end of the year.
