On 16 to 19 October 2014, Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC) together with International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, led a business mission to High Point, USA, coincide with High Point Furniture Market, touted as the largest furniture show in USA.
The mission aimed to assess High Point Furniture Market as a potential venue for the facilitation of entry for Singapore furniture companies to the USA furniture market and explore partnership opportunities as well as market Singapore’s role as a gateway to the Asian market. Meetings were arranged at the Highpoint Furniture Market with parties such as Highpoint Market Authority and the National Retailers of America Association which provided valuable insights into the USA market.
The Singapore delegates also met various USA retailers, including Home Meriden International and Control LLC among others. The meetings provided opportunities for delegates to present their products to key buyers from the respective USA companies, hence creating possible business collaborations.
On top of that, the delegates also visited a HTL International Holding’s – a SFIC member – showroom at High Point Market. They were hosted by Group Managing Director and Chief Executive, Mr Phua Yong Tat.
