On 10 – 14 September 2014, with the support of International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC) led 15 Singapore-based furniture companies, mainly comprising of Singapore Mozaic members, to Furniture China 2014 held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.

A wide range of products from custom-made to contemporary furnishings and office furniture, as well as accessories and decorative items were showcased. With Singapores participation in global-scale shows across the years, it has earned an increase in brand recognition and reputation for high-quality and reliable furniture.
Furthermore, for the first time ever, SFIC spread the Mid-Autumn festivities and held free mooncake sampling sessions in the Singapore Pavilion. Like-minded industry people mingled and negotiated business dealings over sweet treats.
Mr Gan Shee Wen, Vice President (Marketing) of Koda Ltd commented, ”We managed to engage most of the buyers whom we were expecting, and we have also successfully introduced two full product lines. Through an international event like this, our objectives of product introduction and brand exposure were met entirely.”
Ended on a positive note, the companies felt that it was a productive show as most doubled their business leads and the expected sales over next 12 months increased tremendously by 89.7% in comparison to 2013.
Another company, Star Furniture garnered 60% sales from new customers. Ms Susan Wu, Senior International Marketing Manager of Star Furniture expressed, ”We received much positive feedback for our new products and one of our new contemporary bedroom furniture won the Bronze Award for Product Innovation Award 2014.”
